The Monterey Old Capitol Lions Club is a California 501(c)(3) Charity. Our club created Chariots for Charity in the mid-1990s to accept donated vehicles and turn them into funds to support local non-profit organizations. Old Capitol Lions have worked on and sold more than 750 cars, trucks, motorhomes, boats, motorcycles, and a riding lawn mower. All the funds raised have been donated to local non-profits. The main recipients are The Blind & Visually Impaired Center in Pacific Grove and The Lions Building for the 8Iind at 225 Laurel Avenue in Pacific Grove. We helped purchase that property and have helped maintain it for over 54 years. Our Chariots program is quite different from other car donation programs. Where others wholesale vehicles, we actually work on them, make them road-worthy, and sell them at retail. This adds value for the donor and increases the amount we raise for charity.
